Youth Camps and Classes

In the GET Conservatory all programs for young people have two core objectives:

Students will grow as artists while having fun.

We feel it is of the utmost importance that students enjoy themsleves while learning the joy of performing and live theatre. They receive excellent instruction from working professional theatre artists that leaves them better artists and wanting to come back for more.

Students will learn to reach their best performances through strong ensemble work.

At the core of Georgia Ensemble Theatre & Conservatory is the belief that the stronger the company, the better every individual's performance becomes. Our camps and classes are structured to teach students how to make their work stronger by connecting with other members of their ensemble and helping all to improve.

Teen Master Classes

In the GET Conservatory we offer special Master Classes for students who have already taken classes and camps here or have similar training in another program. These classes are designed for commited students and the work in class is more intense - similar to what you might receive in a college program. Often there is work students are expected to do outside of class time.

If you know you want to perform at a higher level, these are the classes for you.

Story Drama - Ages 4 to 6

Spend Saturday Mornings bringing a popular children's book to life and performing it for parents on the final day. The focus will be on having fun while trying many different ways to use voice and movement to create characters. Through harnessing their inherent creativity students will leave this class with skills that will help them as performers and with all aspects of life.

Class will end with feedback from local artistic directors and university professors.

Class size is strictly limited in order to give each student as much individual attention as possible.

Mondays, 7:00 - 9:00pm
$180

Saturday Workshop Series - Grades 2 thru 5 or 6 thru 12

This is the heart of the Youth program in the GET Conservatory. The Saturday Workshop Series (SWS) is designed to nurture beginners and challenge advanced students. Students learn the basic principles of performance:

  • Movement
  • Vocal Technique
  • Scene Study / Acting

SWS is much like a gym for young actors; many students retake it over and over. Because of the small enrollment, the scenes and exercises worked on are specifically tailored to individual students' needs.

The SWS ends with a Demo Day performance for parents.
